Frequently Asked Questions - Forming an integral part of our Terms & Conditions
Communications: A pet diary/sheet is provided so messages can be left by either party concerning care provision, progress reports etc. relevant to your pets care whilst you are out for the day, or away on business, holiday etc.
Clients are encouraged to keep in touch with us by landline, mobile phone or e-mail.
Emergencies: We retain emergency contact numbers when visiting or walking and will make every endeavour to contact the owner or other nominated emergency number should the need arise. We carry a mobile phone at all times.
Vets: If on visiting, we discover that your pet has somehow sustained an injury needing vet treatment, we make every endeavour to contact the owner, followed by any other nominated emergency numbers. If we cannot we will transport the pet to your nominated vet.
Vets Fees: We ask owners to sign a vet authority requesting the vet to bill the owner. If your vet insists on immediate payment, we will incur this cost on the owners' behalf and expect immediate reimbursement from you, the owner, on your return.
Pet Taxi: Available if you are unable to transport your animal to Vets, Kennels/Catteries, Grooming Parlours etc.
Dog Walking and Weather Extremes
Very Cold Weather: If it is very wet, icy or snowy we will always try and walk your dog. If it is obvious that walking would be hazardous to either ours or your dogs health and safety then we will use the time to keep your dog company and toilet them. If it is impossible to reach your property then we will contact you to explain why.
Very Hot Weather: Walks may have to be shortened or re-routed to cooler areas - water and bowls will be carried. In extremely hot weather we will keep your dog company and allow them to be toileted for the duration of the visit.
Mucky Pups!: We try to avoid letting your dog get dirty. Just in case they do, we ask that, if possible, owners can make towels available for cleaning the dog off. We also carry towels if this is not possible and clean your dog immediately on return.
Security: When walking we attach our own name tags to your dogs collar for added identification. Any keys we carry are coded so no-one can tell whom they belong to. All keys when not being used are locked away securely.
Equipment: Owners need to provide their own food and water bowls for visits. For cat and small animal visiting we request that owners leave out all food, litter and cleaning equipment where it can easily be found. For walking please provide the pets usual leads, collars, tags etc.. We also carry our own equipment and will use these if the need arises.
Insurance: Crestlands Pet Sitting Services is fully insured and members of The National Association of Registered Petsitters (NARP).
Payments: Payments fall due on the first day of service/visiting (weekly) of 1st day of the month if paying monthly.
